A Court of Wings and Ruin

I was first introduced to Sarah J Maas by one of university friends, Soraya. Fantasy and Young Adult, she was definitely an author that I was going to enjoy. The first book I bought of hers was A Court of Thorns and Roses mainly down to the fact that it was described as Beauty and the Beast retelling. It took me two days to finish the book, and then I had to wait a whole year until A Court of Mist and Fury was released. So I moved onto her Throne of Glass Series in order to satiate my need for more of her magnificent writing, characters, story and worlds. I of course pre-ordered A Court of Wings and Ruin and could not wait to get started on the third book in the series that I so deeply fell in love with.

I was not disappointed in the slightest! I jumped straight back into the world of Prythian, following the story of Feyre, Rhysand and the rest of the Night Court as they begin their battle against Hybern. We saw the characters from the second books; Cassian, Mor, Azriel and Amren develop so much more, showing every side of themselves. We also met a bunch of new characters from every single Court. I’m very much a believer in not giving away spoilers, but it is so hard! Feyre’s sisters are now having to deal with become High Fae, the twists and turns of learning how to use their new bodies, trust their new friends and explore their new powers. Sarah J Maas was able to push us further into this world of characters and bring out such a strong range of emotions.

The story, the beauty, the characters just grew and grew. I tried to slow myself from reading it too quickly as I knew that this was going to be the last in the series…..that is until i turned the page and was told that the story wasn’t over. Another book is on it’s way and I absolutely cannot wait!
